Camden Art Centre, London - Richard Wright

In 2025 we worked with Camden Art Centre on Richard Wright’s (b. 1960, London, UK) first solo exhibition at an institution in London, and his largest institutional exhibition in the UK for more than 20 years. The exhibition included two monumental stained glass art works – each window containing nine large panels originally devised to be displayed vertically. For the exhibition, Northern Lights were tasked with suspending the panels horizontally from the gallery’s Victorian skylights. Our team worked on site at the gallery and soldered thousands of new copper ties to the panels, assembling the windows horizontally and ensuring the intricate lead lines of the design ran-on. We then secured the copper ties to the supporting frames, which were hoisted up and fixed to the ceiling.

With a tight turnaround time for the exhibition install, we worked calmly and seamlessly alongside the technicians installing the other artworks. We were invited back to deinstall the panels after the exhibition closed. On our return trip we freed the panels from their large metal frames, removed all the copper ties, and safely repackaged the panels for transportation and storage.
